responses... and name suggestions

So now that we have informed everyone that we are having not only 3 babies... but three little BOYS... the reactions, advice, and name suggestions are flying in.
It is so sweet to hear all the people who are excited for us and always curious to see how I am feeling.

I wish we could have recorded everyone's reactions to the news, but it was just not so.
So I thought it would be helpful for me to remember, and entertaining for you all to read the reactions and name suggestions we have been getting since the news!

Responses that it is three boys:
"Wow! you are going to have your hands full!"
"Boys are such snugglers, you will love it!"

"You are going to always have a dirty bathroom"
"Mother's day is going to be an awesome day for you!"
"Dave must be THRILLED!"
"But Peterson's don't make boys!"
"Well, at least you will not have to worry about teenage girl drama."
"You are building a sports team!"
"How convenient, they call all share clothes"
"Bring on the dirt, bugs, and creepy crawlies"
"You get to remain the princess in your house!"
"Boy, her grocery bill is going to be outrageous!"
"Three boys? Oh boy! Bless you!"
"Bring on the Costco membership!"
"There is going to be pee, everywhere!"
"Boys love their moms!"

Northside M.O.Ms group

On the first Thursday of every month, a group of moms meet. This is no ordinary group of moms... but mothers of multiples. This organization has groups all over the United states... a great resource for those who are parents of multiples... twins, triplets, quads, even quints in some cases!

When I last posted on the triplet dinner I attended back in January, they introduced me to the Northside M.O.MS group.

I attended my first meeting last Thursday. It was great to see some familiar faces from the triplet mom dinner, but also to see so many new moms that are all from the same general location! I was the only pregnant one there, but it was so fun to hear the stories and questions circulating around the room. Everyone had such great advice but also related to one another in a way I have never seen! There are committees to join and many events they plan throughout the year- including a summer picnic, a supersale in March, and a parents night out. Great community!

A woman named Angel came to our meeting to talk about the Minnesota Mothers of Multiples state workshop. This takes place every year, and this year it is hosted in Minneapolis!
What goes on at these workshops?
  • Keynote speakers
  • large table raffles
  • spa room
  • breakout sessions
  • caricatures
  • costume contest (this year's theme is heroines)
  • DJ and Karaoke
  • Book exchange (for kids books and adults)
And so much more!!!  A great social event for moms to come together and have a weekend of fun, learning, and time to just BE!

I don't know if this pregnancy will allow me to go this year, but I  plan on making it next year for sure!

Following the meeting last Thursday, a lot of the moms head over to Applebee's for beverages and half priced apps! I ended up staying out till 11 just sharing stories about pregnancy and life with multiples...
I didn't think I would be out so late but I was having such a great time!

I am so grateful for this group of women who have reached out to me and ready to answer any questions I may have as I prepare for three little boys!

Our next triplet mom dinner is coming up soon! I am sure I will have more to report!

the BIG gender reveal!

We had such a fun time finding out what we were having! This time around these babies were not really that shy so we are confident in our answer!

Below are the two videos we took of our families finding out the genders!
I had a fun time making the boxes... I am looking forward to putting all the babies videos on a DVD so we can have them all together as a keepsake to show our triplets one day!

What do you predict? BBB? GGG? BBG? GGB?

Enjoy the reactions! We sure did!

Baby Update- 17 weeks

How far along? 17 weeks 1 day

Sleep?   it is starting to get tough to roll from side to side... I can feel the ligaments in my stomach pull.

Maternity Clothes? I finally went out and got maternity jeans (amazing), and some tops.

Best Moment this week? Finding out the genders of the babies.... we will reveal it tomorrow(Sunday) once I tell the congregation the news.

Miss Anything? Freedom to eat and do what I want without worry.

Movement?  slight flutters here and there.

Size of the Babies?  My little Sweet potatoes... at our appointment yesterday, they said they were as long as a dollar bill, and each weighed half a pound!

Food Cravings? spicy, sour, nothing new to report. Everything gives me heartburn these days... even water.

Morning Sickness? NOPE!

Gender?  We DO know gender and will reveal it on here tomorrow with some great videos we took when telling our families... stay tuned!

Bed Rest? No thank you

Limitations?  When I am on my feet too long, I can feel some uncomfortable pressure in my lower abdominals and pelvis... so I need to listen to my body when that starts and get off my feet.
Weight Gain?  I gained a little over a pound this week. We are moving in the right direction!

Pregnancy Symptoms?  Fatigue, headaches, heartburn

Belly Button In or Out?  Still In

Wedding Rings On or Off?  Still On

It's about time Daddy posted....

I figured it's time I also add a post.  I can't let my beautiful wife and amazing mommy-to-be have all the fun.
This has been quite a ride for us indeed as you can tell from all the posts Mollie has been putting up.  From all the ups and downs we've experienced through this incredible process I've learned so much. I know now a whole plethora of terms that would put a doctor to shame.

I had no idea how much actually went into getting pregnant.  It was especially difficult for us early on when you try so hard to make it happen and you want it so badly, and it just doesn't happen.  Meanwhile you see a 16-year old high school student get pregnant and not even want the baby.  You see it happen so many times.

I am so ecstatic at the opportunity of becoming a father.  And to triplets?  Oh man!  Even though we're going to be outnumbered, I don't think I'd want to have it any other way to be honest.

By the 15-week mark these little turnip-sized bundles of joy are able to start hearing.  So I've started talking to them.  There is so much knowledge I have in this brain of mine to drop on the three of them.  So many things to teach them and show them.  Until that time I'll just be singing them some ditties, talking to them and making their mommy as comfy as possible.

What's next you ask?  Next Friday Mollie goes in for a nice and long two hour ultrasound for measurements on all three of them  Very detailed measurements.  Making sure everything is growing and developing as it should be.  Also in the two hour detailed time frame, we're hoping to finally get a definitive answer on the genders of the babies three.

Stay tuned.....

Baby Update: 16 weeks

How far along? 16 weeks 1 day

Sleep?   Naps, early bed times, sleeping in when I can... so yes... lots of sleep!

Maternity Clothes? I think it is getting to that point... I should make a run to buy some.

Best Moment this week? We had a 16 week check up on Friday. Dave got to go with me this time, so he got to see the babies. Although the ultrasound was shorter than what we were expecting, it was good to know they are active and heart rates are all strong!

Miss Anything? deli meat, a glass of wine.

Movement?  I am feeling a few twinges here and there, but nothing significant. I have nothing to compare it to, so maybe more than what I am thinking?

Size of the Babies?  Turnips

Food Cravings? Cheetos, spicy, and sour

Morning Sickness? Little waves of nausea that come out of no where.

Gender?  Our Ultrasound technician seemed to have a "hunch" but was still unsure... we were a little disappointed with feeling rushed and not thorough, but I have another appointment scheduled for NEXT Friday, so we should have a better idea then of what we are having, and will share when we are confident!

Bed Rest? Nope!

Limitations?  no P90X which is what Dave is doing...

Weight Gain?  I gained a little over a pound this week. We are moving in the right direction!

Pregnancy Symptoms?  Fatigue, headaches

Belly Button In or Out?  Still In

Wedding Rings On or Off?  Still On

Looking Forward To? A better appointment next week.

What Dave is saying.... Now that the babies can hear... he has started talking to my belly.

Belly pics begin....
16 weeks!!!
