What's been going on in triplet land...

Lots has been happening these last few weeks. We have been busy with outings and visitors and getting ready for Easter!

We love pulling up on everything now!

Independent eaters!!!

Playtime!!!
Standing is our preferred method of playtime now... Although we lose balance every so often so a few bumps and bruises come with this new method...

We love playing together. Lots of laughing, and hair pulling, and climbing over each other to get that toy! It's a busy house hold!

We had a couple really nice days last week so we seized the moments to get outside for a walk!  We love being outside and taking in all the sights and fresh air!!

Nolan's godparents (my life long friend Katie) had their baby on April 1st. Liam Thomas, 9lbs 11oz baby boy... Almost weighing as much as my three combined!!! They are going to have so much fun playing together!!!

Summer wardrobe is slowly coming out

I celebrated my 30th birthday this last week. Dave and I got to go out on Monday, just the 2 of us... To dinner and a movie (which I may have Slept through some of it due to the reclining chairs, and the day starting at 4:30am)
Tuesday we got to go out with the Kerns to our Benihana birthday tradition (Kristin and Keith usually join too, but they just welcomed baby Elin that day)

So fun to be able to celebrate... Thanks to awesome family members for watching the boys!

The boys had their first McDonalds outing  on April 18. We went with the Ross family, Cindy watches the boys during the week! They loved the fries and chicken nuggets, but loved all the people and chaos most, I think!

They got cute Easter baskets from Cindy! They got cute outfits, mum mum crackers, little bunnies, and bunny ears!!!!

Nolan

Henry

And Graham!

Stay tuned for Easter pictures!!

Just for fun here are my colleagues for our traditional Good Friday pictures... We don't have fun together or anything...

10 month Update

How old? 10 months old on April Fool's day

Our weights: Henry: 20.5lbs   Nolan:17.5lbs   Graham: 18.5lbs
All three are wearing pretty much 12 month clothes... some 9 month still fits...

Our sleeping patterns?  Awake between 6:30-7am
Morning nap- 10am -noon,  Afternoon Nap- 2:45- 4:45pm

Night time: Bottles start after wheel of fortune around 7pm, and everyone is in bed and asleep by 7:45ish.  We have 2 in the crib... one to go!

Our eating Schedule:
breakfast is at 7:30 every morning... fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, peanut butter toast is a favorite
7 ounce bottle before nap
lunch around 12:30- grilled cheese, strawberries, veggies, applesauce, to name a few things

7 ounce bottle before nap around 2:45pm
Dinner at 5pm- 2 veggies, fruit, oatmeal, meatballs are a huge hit... stove top stuffing, whatever Dave and I are having.
 Bottles before bed around 7:15pm.

Our favorite foods?  Peanut butter toast, vanilla wafers, meatballs, sweet potatoes, grilled cheese, strawberries... or anything they see us eating, they want a bite!

eating Habits: Nolan- new thing is to raspberry every time we stick a spoonful of something in his mouth... we get covered... not cool!

Henry mushes everything in his fist while bringing it up to his mouth.

Graham is getting better at picking up food and eating it... only has one tooth so he does a lot of sucking on bigger food pieces... lol

Sippy cup status; Graham has got it down! Henry likes to bang it on his tray... and Nolan likes to chew on the mouth piece.

Our likes?

Everyone: eating food off tray, funny mouth noises, bathtime- lots of splashing, walks outside now that is is finally getting nicer out, SO BIG, grandma and grandpa visits, fun new toys with movement and sounds, (busy town), activity tables, pulling ourselves up on toys,

H: Funny noises, TV, sleeping in mom and dads bed for naps, rolling all over the floor, chewing on everything, pulling himself up on everything, talking a lot, he is still our mama's boy...

N: army crawling everywhere... if there are cords out, Nolan will find them! He will get up on his knees and rock... so close, waving bye bye.

G: watching cars go by out the window, eating, rolling all over the floor, making silly faces, flirting with everyone.

Our dislikes? Being changed on the changing table... we have come to the point where when you lay them down to be changed they flip right over on their tummys... so we have moved to the floor or had to find methods of distraction for them.

Teeth check: Henry has 2 on bottom, Nolan has 2 on bottom, working on top 2, and Graham has 1 on the bottom.

Some excitement for Henry

Well of course when you have three babies there is always a story to tell, a picture to share, and some type of excitement.
This last weekend was no different.

Sunday evening was going along as usual with Dave's parents bringing dinner over... And having some good quality time with us. The boys had finished their dinner and were sitting in their chairs playing with spoons around the table while we ate. We typically feed them bites of our food.... And so we broke off pieces of our garlic bread and fed them.... They loved it!

After dinner I took Henry to change him into jammies... Realizing he needed the next size up I put him on the floor to play with grandma, ran down stairs to grab new 12 month jammies, and when I came back up something happened. Grandma Lynda said that Henry was scratching terribly. I picked him up, and he was red, blotchy, and had hives all over his face. He was scratching his eyes profusely. All of a sudden a ton of drool came pouring out of his mouth. Like it was hard for him to swallow it. I called 911 immediately.

I told them all the symptoms and stayed on the phone while holding. Henry and watching him like a hawk...
The fire truck arrived first, and by the time they got there, he stopped drooling, itching was not as bad but he was still covered in hives and redness.
Once the ambulance came we decided to give him some Benadryl ( it took four of them to figure out a safe dosage, lol).... To be on the safe side they wanted to do an epi-pen and take him in to be monitored.
So we gathered up our stuff, and Henry and I had a fun ambulance ride.
Dave and his parents stayed back with the other two.

Once we got in the ambulance, she gave him the shot.... Let me tell you, it sucked that he was already strapped in his car seat so I couldn't hold him while he screamed... And on top of that the shot made him worse before he got better... So his face and lips swelled a bit, and he was screaming from his heart racing.... I felt so helpless.... I hated it.
He finally settled and within two minutes he looked completely normal ( and we had not even started the drive to children's yet)

He took a bottle on the way there and watched the lights out of the back window. The parametric, Kim was fabulous and we shared great conversation as she lowered my anxiety....

My mom met us at the hospital, and we hung out for an hour and half or so... (Funny moment - the formula container fell out of the diaper bag on our way in, and spilled all over the carpeted floor- we sure know how to make an entrance)

The doc examined him and gave us some steroids to prevent any delayed reaction he could have 8-12 hours down the road.
We were instructed to set up an appt with an allergen as soon as possible.

Dave's mom stayed with the two while Dave came to pick us up ( since we needed a car seat base)
We got home around 10:30. Henry slept the whole car ride home and then slept all night... Exhausted from the evenings events I am sure.

We have an appointment set up for next Monday so hopefully we will come up with some answers.... I am guessing its a seasoning allergy.

It was scary but glad all is well now. Stay tuned for allergy results!

9 month update!

How old? 9 months on March 1st
Our weights: Henry: 19lbs   Nolan:16lbs   Graham: 17lbs
Nolan and Graham are wearing 9 month clothes and Henry is in 12 month clothes!

Our sleeping patterns? Up around 6:30am Same... morning nap and afternoon nap. Nolan seems to be able to go longer stretches with no naps... Henry is still tired after about 2.5 hours awake! Graham can be a hit or miss when it comes to naps

Night time: Its a weird pattern of every other night... a good night sleep and then a bad night up a lot night sleep...
Bedtime around 7pm

Nolan- cant be rocked to sleep anymore... you need to just put him in his crib and he self soothes to sleep.

Henry is getting better and falling asleep and staying asleep. We are getting him acclimated to his crib slowly but surely.

Graham still needs to be rocked to sleep. He is also slowly getting acclimated to his crib... but is doing a lot better job at sleeping through the night.

Our eating Schedule:
breakfast is at 7:30 every morning... fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, peanut butter toast is a favorite
4-5 ounce bottle before nap
lunch around noon- cheese, deli meat, veggies, fruit, noodles... random stuff

4-5 ounce bottle before nap around 1:30
Dinner at 5pm- 2 veggies, fruit, oatmeal, grilled cheese is a favorite, hotdish.. whatever dave and I are having.
 Bottles before bed around 6:45.

Our favorite foods? Yogurt melts, peanut butter toast, vanilla wafers, yogurt, any new foods they are trying...  Nolan is now sensitive to chunks of food...(green beans, mandarin oranges, noodles), yet Henry prefers chunks of food over baby food.

eating Habits: Nolan likes to pass food from one hand to another when he picks it up from his tray. He also says num num num a lot while eating.
Graham uses his pincher fingers to pick up and then usually hold on to food with both hands.

Henry takes fists of food to his mouth and proceeds to put his whole fist in his mouth to get that food.... (we are working on it)

We are working on the sippy cup... graham is catching on quickly... Henry drinks and dribbles it down his chin... and Nolan likes to chew on the mouth piece.

Our likes?

H: peek a boo, eating food off tray, funny mouth noises, VocabuLarry (TV), snuggles with mommy.
N: jumping, peek a boo, rolling EVERYWHERE, talking, squealing, eating anything, flirting
G: eating, making noises, laughing at brothers, peek a boo, jumping, looking out the window, social butterfly!

Our dislikes? Being sick.
Having sick babies just breaks a mom's heart. I want to help and take it away, but I cant. It is so hard on me to see them in pain. It has been one of my toughest times as a mom....ok.. ANYWAY...
This month the three boys came down with RSV.... Graham got it first... we ended up in the ER this last Thursday with Nolan and Graham, were sent home... then back in the doctor on Saturday with all three, all testing positive for RSV and ear infections. With Antibiotics, a nebulizer, and lots of snuggles, we are doing better. the coughs are still pretty bad but the wheezing is a lot better... thank goodness. I now have what they had...but that was inevitable.

Nebulizers....poor babies!

Our favorite games/toys? Lately rubber spatulas and little cups from the kitchen... empty plastic water bottles, rubber bracelets, activity table that lights up and sings...

Our milestones?
Henry- Finally has a tooth! came in toward the end of February! Picking food up from his tray and eating it. he sits all by himself and can lean over to get toys and fall on his tummy and recovers nicely. Lots of hair!

Nolan- has 2 teeth still!  He eats everything you put in front of him. He has some reservations with some new foods... or atleast you cant feed him.. you need to put it on his tray so HE can feed himself! He will be crawling soon I think... although for now he rolls everywhere! ALL OVER! He babbles all the time and constantly smiles!

Graham- No teeth yet... but the drool has increased so I think we are close.  he still is a great eater and still prefers to be fed, although he will do some picking up food from the tray... or if you put it right in his hand he will eat it.

Things we do to make Mom and Dad smile? Lots of funny faces and mocking noises and faces that mom and dad make. interacting with each other is so cute, and I know that it is only going to get better... or worse because they are stealing toys from each other. They wake up with smiles on their faces, they always great us with a smile when we come home, and just are such happy babies (even moments when they are sick)

In just a few short months we will be celebrating their first birthday... time really does fly.... We love watching them learn and grow, and become brave little guys as they explore!

Cant get over their eyes (all blue) and melt my heart!

8 month update!

How old? 8 months

Our weights: Estimates:  Henry-18  Nolan- 16 Graham-16.5
We are wearing mostly all 9 month clothes... Henry is on the verge of 12 month clothes... can it be!??!?

Our sleeping patterns?  Morning naps around 9am. Afternoon naps around 1:30pm. One nap is usually longer than the other.. but each day it varies what nap that is with each baby... Lately they have been napping at different times... so there is usually always one baby awake... (not a fan...)

Night time:
Nolan sleeps in the crib and is a belly sleeper. He usually sleeps through the night, but will have the occasional wake up around 3am...

Henry is hard to get down (he is up and down for a good 4 times before he is down for the night). He sleeps through the night with the occasional bottle at 4am, then sleeps till 7)

Graham is hit or miss.. he either falls asleep well or fights it to the core... once he is finally down he sleeps through the night unless woken up by Nolan.
regardless we are moving in the right direction I think.

Our eating Schedule:
breakfast is at 7ish every morning... fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, puffs
6 ounce bottles for N and H before nap around 9 (G doesnt want one till post nap)
We are on the verge of doing real food for lunch... but for now another 6 ounces around 1:00
small 4 ounce before dinner at 4PM
dinner at 5pm and final bottle before bed around 7.

Our favorite foods? Yogurt melts, peanut butter toast, sweet potatoes, yogurt, any new foods they are trying... (pasta, chunks of carrots, mum crackers, a few bites of pudding)

Our likes? laughing at each other, jumping (on laps, in the johnny jump up, in the exersaucer), eating, snuggle time, daddy's hat, ceiling fan.

H: peek a boo, eating food off tray, funny mouth noises, TV, snuggles with mommy.
N: jumping, peek a boo, chewing on anything, rolling, bath time, talking, patty cake.
G: eating, making noises, laughing at brothers, peek a boo, jumping, looking out the window, social butterfly!

Our dislikes? waiting to eat, some nights the bedtime process, being recipients of toy stealing, G doesn't like taking Tylenol for teething.

Our favorite games/toys? clapping, an activity cube, johnny jump up, rubber bracelets to chew on, Sophie the giraffe, peek a boo, where's daddy game, flirting with friends and visitors.

Our milestones?
Henry- No teeth yet, but lots of drool. Picking food up from his tray and eating it.  Henry eats almost everything we try out on them.   He is sleeping better through the night, a lot more hair. Almost in 12 month clothes, big boy bath seat, when he topples over from sitting, he can recover quite nicely... still hates tummy time.. so no crawling yet.

Nolan- has 2 teeth! his two bottom teeth have poked through! He eats everything you put in front of him. He has no problem with new foods.. he is game on! Almost grasped the concept of picking up food and bringing to his mouth. Nolan sleeps in the crib now. He is a tummy sleeper, and sleeps pretty well through the night.  BIg boy bath seat, but slides a bit still.

Graham- No teeth yet either, I think it might be a while still... although he has been a bit more fussy lately... so It could be coming.... Graham is a great eater when it comes to purees, when it comes to new foods, or new textures he is a bit sensitive. He has learned to shake his head no no no.... although it may be just because he likes the sensation of the movement.... he stands so well, so he may move right to walking... no picking up food yet, but if you put a cracker in his hand, he will eat that pretty well. When in the highchair, Graham MMM  MMM MMMM's between each bite... you cant feed him fast enough. He Loves his brothers... interacting is so fun to see with him.

Things we do to make Mom and Dad smile? Recognizing and smiling at each other, watching them learn and laugh, and play. Henry has a great smile that lights his face up, Nolan has a great belly laugh, and Graham makes the funniest faces around the clock! their personalities are really coming out now, they are so fun, and not so fragile and tiny tiny babies, so playing is starting to be really fun!

The time is flying, but we are enjoying the interactions with each of our little dudes... We are surrounded by so many people that just have fallen in love with these three boys... we continue to be so thankful for all the help and support from everyone!

7 month update

How old? 7 months

Our weights: Estimates:  Henry-17  Nolan- 15 Graham-15.5
We are wearing both 6 month to 9 month clothes!

Our sleeping patterns?  Lately they have been taking 2 great naps, but not sleeping too well at night. Every night is different these days so it is hard to have any expectations.

Nighttime: Bedtime around 6:30pm. But between 9-10 it seems everyone gets up at least once needing to be rocked back to sleep. We have a good night every 4th night or so.... They seem to all take turns on who sleeps through the night.  So  we know they are each capable of doing it.... sigh.... it will happen soon right?

Our eating schedule?
We have first bottles around 7am- around 5 ounces
Solids at 8- oatmeal and fruit
bottles after nap around noon- 5 ounces
smaller bottle at 4 - 3-4 ounces
dinner at 5- 2 veggies, 2 fruits, and oatmeal
small bottle before bed around 6:30-7

Our favorite foods? Pears, sweet potatoes, puffs, and trying new foods on mom and dads plate (we just tried mashed potatoes last week)

Our likes? Standing, funny noises, baby TV channel, music, flashing toys, snuggles, trying new foods, being naked in between changes
H: grabbing feet, peek-a-boo, sitting up, tags, when daddy raps, his monkey pacifier
N: jumping, exersaucer, rolling over, scooting, tags on toys, eating, when daddy coughs,  belly laughing, grabbing his toes
G: standing, observing, sitting up, eating solids, flashing lights,  seeing his brothers, grabbing his toes.

Our dislikes? being cold after bath time, tummy time, teething, Henry is sensitive to loud noises, new people, new environments. Graham still does not like to wait, for anything. Nolan still doesn't like the falling asleep part of bedtime.

Our favorite games/toys? exersaucer, scout musical dog that sings, baby crinkle paper toys,  peek-a-boo, clapping.

Our milestones?more talking and noises by all three. We have started teething: drooling, bumpy gums, fussy. sitting up really well! Eating puffs and chucks of food.... slowly but surely.  We are not crawling yet, but before they get mad on their tummies their is some scooting and crawling motions happening. As much as I want them to develop.... once they move it is a whole new ball game...

Things we do to make Mom and Dad smile? All their noises. They just crack us up! When they babble we try and determine what is sounds like... in english. We love that in the morning, they don't cry when they wake up... they stir and eventually start talking to themselves. Its an easy way to wake up.. especially since it is so early!

Our Pictures:

group shot! We love all their fun expressions!

this happened the minute we stopped entertaining them for pictures!
DOMINOS!

I fall in love with his smile, every time!

His sweet face gets me every time!

This kid... he smiles with his whole face!

It seems weird that they are now as old for as long as they were in my belly... 7.5 months.... crazy!
This is all going too fast!
I am glad a few girlfriends just had babies so I can go hold tiny tiny infants! But this age is so much fun too! SO much to discover and learn!
